Thank you for taking the time to consider registration in the “Special Needs Evacuation and Rescue Registry”. This program is designed for individuals with special medical needs and thus may require specialized assistance in the event of an emergency and/or a disaster. Your enrollment information will assist emergency service personnel in providing this specialized assistance.
All individuals should anticipate the need for evacuation and make advanced arrangements to shelter with relatives, friends and/or community organizations. The specialized assistance provided by emergency service personnel via this program is intended as a temporary measure when, for reasons beyond your control, you are unable to implement your own emergency plan. Individuals that require a personal caregiver for specialized assistance during an emergency and/or disaster should always be accompanied by that personal caregiver. Administrators of nursing, convalescent, assisted living, retirement and other group facilities are responsible for the evacuation and sheltering of their own residents.
